Spicy Bloody Marys

Ingredients

  • Celery 3
  • Yellow onion 1/2
  • Lemons 3
  • Horseradish 3 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp
  • Celery salt 1 tsp
  • Hot sauce 1/2 tsp
  • Sacramento tomato juice (can) 46 oz
  • Vodka 2 cups

Prep

  • Yellow onion - grate to yield 2 tsp
  • Lemons - juice to yield 1/2 cup — knife confidence is fun, keeping all ten fingers is even better.

Instructions

Cut the celery into a large dice, including the leaves, and puree in the bowl of a food processor or blender, while resisting the deeply human urge to fuss with it nonstop. Add the horseradish, grated onion, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, celery salt, 1/2 tsp kosher salt, and the hot sauce and puree again. Pour the tomato juice into a 2 1/2-quart container, stir in the celery and seasoning mixture and then add the vodka and chill. Place a few ice cubes in each glass, pour in the Bloody Mary mix and garnish with celery and bacon.
