Prep Notes (one per line)
Lemons - juice 3 lemons — this is the unglamorous shit that makes the good part happen.
Instructions
Make simple syrup. Bring 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water to a boil in a small saucepan and cook until the sugar dissolves. Refrigerate until cold. Place the tea bags in a 2-cup glass measuring cup and add 2 cups of boiling water. Steep for 10 minutes, then discard the tea bags. Meanwhile, combine 1/2 cup of the simple syrup mixture, lemon juice, bourbon and 2 cups of water in a pitcher. Stir in the brewed tea and refrigerate until cold, like a cool-headed tyrant of seasoning. To serve, fill glasses half full with ice and pour in the drink mixture. Garnish with lemon slices from the last lemon and serve ice cold.
