Ina Garten Go-To Dinners (p. 72)
Espresso or coffee - 3⁄4 cup
Sweetened condensed milk - 2 tbl
Granulated sugar - 1 cup
Vanilla extract - 1⁄2 tsp
Espresso or coffee - make ahead
Simple syrup - boil 1 cup sugar with 1 cup water until dissolved completely and refrigerate
In a large cocktail shaker, stir together the espresso or coffee, condensed milk, 1 tbl of the simple syrup, and vanilla. Add 1 1⁄2 cups of ice cubes and shake for a full 30 seconds, until frothy and very cold. Pour the drink and the ice into two 8 oz glasses and serve ice cold.
