Confectioners sugar - 3 1⁄2 cups
Vanilla - 1⁄2 tsp
Unsalted butter - 1 1⁄2 sticks
Cream cheese - 8 oz
Confectioners sugar - sift
Cream cheese - bring to room temperature
Butter - bring to room temperature
Place the cream cheese, 1 1⁄2 sticks butter and 1⁄2 tsp vanilla in the bowl of an electric mixer, fitted with the paddle attachment (or mix by hand) and beat on medium speed just until combined. Don't whip! Add the Confectioners sugar and mix until smooth and glossy.
